I recently purchased a used set of the CW-Poetry (with teacher & student books A) and have started studying the Core guide in order to use the program with my 5th grader next year. Are there any plans to produce an accompanying audio CD with all the poems in your Core Book, student & teacher books? Or, is something like this already available? I've grown increasingly interested in poetry in the past few years; however, due to my lack of training in and listening to poetry, I struggle with the rhythm of poems. When I read poems aloud, except for the most regular ones (i.e., Twinkle, Twinkle), they have a tendency to sound like rap! I put Bible memory verses to rap rhythms to help my children remember them, but I'm sure this isn't how the poems are to be done. Thanks! Karen

We have no plans to do any audio material for the Classical Writing series at this time. I did a bit of web searching last night, and discovered that Librivox www.librivox.org has recordings of at least several poems from Poetry A. I, too, struggle with finding the proper meter for poems when I read. I take comfort in the fact that poetry is an art, not a science, and there are no doubt various ways to do many things, including read a given line. Carolyn

Thank you for the link, Carolyn!
I had thought that any given poem was to be read a "certain" way, but I'm glad to know there isn't only one, exact way.
Thanks again, Karen
