I am currently using Aesop with my two boys, ages 7 and 10. With my 7 yo I still use Rod and Staff grammar but with my 10 yo I only use CW and Latin.
I am wondering if it would be best to switch to the new Harvey that you have put out for my 7 yo. Or if I should just begin my 10yo in it and let my 7 yo continue in R&S.
Sorry if this question seems vague. I just don't want to be overwhelmed when we begin Harvey.
Thanks! Laney

I would stay with R&S until your older son starts in Homer. That would be the perfect point to introduce Harvey's. If you use the workbooks and the suggested grammar assignments, you will cover Part I and Part III of Harvey's Elementary Grammar during Homer A, and Part II and review Part III (punctuation) in Homer B. We've recently released the workbooks to go along with the Harvey's text - they're designed to make working with the book easier. All the exercises are in the workbook, along with space to do them. The answer keys are as complete as we could make them, and include diagrams for all the sentences to analyze. If, when you get to Homer, you still want to continue with R&S, you can easily do so .. just plan ahead, see what grammar is being covered a given week, and jot down the portion of R&S to use. Participles are the sticky point, as they are used early in Harvey's, and not until 7th grade R&S. You could fill that in with lessons from a grammar site on the web, however -- and the instruction in the Homer Core, too. Carolyn
