On page 19 of the Student Workbook, the student is directed to add the 9 parts of speech found in the Aesop Core to his grammar notebook. Aesop only contains 8 parts of speech. The remaining one, the participle, is covered in Homer.
It is defined as "a word derived from a verb, having the properties of both a verb and an adjective or of a noun."

Day 4 of Preparation Week says to do 4.2 - 6 in the Grammar and then Week 1 says to do 5 - 6. We're reading that right? So we've already done this weeks Grammar? Thanks - Barbara

Hi Barbara, the assignment for Preparation week is to do 4.2 - 4.6. I can see that your confusion comes from the way we noted this in the Prep week. However, if you've already done 5 & 6, you are ahead of the game! I will make a note to clarify this in future editions. Thanks!

While correcting the classifications and diagrams for Lesson 3 on page 41 of the workbook, I noted that in the sentence "The bell will signal us." my dd had classified "us" as a direct object. The answer key classifies this as an indirect object, and I'd like to know why so that I can explain it to her.
Thank you!

However the above explanation still does not make sense to me. I don't see "4.2 - 4.6." Harvey's has 4. Sentence Making, then subheading I with numbers 1 and 2, then subheading II with numbers 3 and 4. What am I missing?

Meliss, You're utterly right. The assignment in the prep week should be 4.2, period. We'll get that updated.
