How do the lessons progress if using just the Core book? Do you spend one or two weeks doing all 4 days at Skill Level 1 and then move on to doing all 4 days at the next skill level (only moving on if the student is ready) until you have worked through the whole book?

That's about it. Most of the skill levels are subdivided into various lessons, and the writing projects are worked on a bit each day. You start at Skill Level 1, Lesson 1 across the board, and advance as your student understands the material. 'Routines' are built into the work, and it's good to stop and just practice what you know at the end of each skill level.
