I would like to go through your program to get myself ready to go to college in a couple of years. My writing is NOT good enough for college work.
If I am doing this myself, do I need both the Older Beginner's Student book AND the Instructor's Guide, or just the Student book? I also need the Aesop and Homer cores, correct?
Thanks!

For an adult doing it alone, just get the core books. Start in Homer, not Aesop, go through the lessons (on paper), write at least two of each writing project, then go through Diogenes Maxim and Chreia in the same fashion, do the lessons, write two of each essay.
The advantage to the Older Beginners books is that they do have specific sentences assigned. Those are are parsed and diagrammed in the Instructor's Guide answer key section, so if you feel like you need diagramming and grammar answers to check your work off of you can either get the Older Beginners workbook and instructor's guide, or you may want to go through Harvey's Elementary Grammar for which we have a workbook and instructor's guides, also.
It really depends on whether your emphasis for this study is grammar or essay writing (or perhaps both).

Thank you! My focus is writing, so I will start with Homer. I really appreciate your advice!
