I started using CW this year, and for the first semester I had my 9th and 10th grader tackle the A&H for older Beginners, which they finished. Now I am getting ready to begin them on Diogenes: Maxim for the Spring semester and I am wondering how to squeeze all 26 weeks into only 20 or so. Do you have any advice for this? When I looked at your writing project schedule, I thought maybe I could just skip one writing project per unit and squeeze the extra subject matter for each of the units into one less week. That would buy me 5 weeks (since there are 5 units). Is this a good approach? or are some of the units easier to condense whereas others shouldn't be condensed at all? I want them to get to Unit 5, since that is where the real essay writing seems to culminate...

I decided to sign my kids up for your online tutorial, so don't worry about answering my previous post unless you want to for the benefit of others!
Thank you, Nancy

Yes,
I think that is a good approach.
Also, teach to their weaknesses. If you get to the end of the book and find that essays is what they need more practice in during the 20 weeks, skip some of the analysis exercises and focus on essays.
Your plan sounds good as a starter plan, but be prepared to change gears if the needs seem different towards the end of the semester. And as always, ask here,
