I'm wondering if there is any possibility of moving my son along through the program so that he will get to the essay and research writing before he finishes high school??
I have the Older Beginners set which I had planned to use with both my sons (10th and 7th) but I'm thinking I want to accelerate the older son. How do I do this?
My 10th grade son completed IEW's SWI B last year and SICC C this year so he's had some fable, narrative and essay writing. Also, he loves to write and he's good at it which is why I want to give him the chance to cover the later levels.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated, Sue

Since you already own it, cover the lessons in Older Beginners that he is not familiar with, then dive straight into Diogenes Maxim to get him going on essay writing.
My guess is that apart from the in media res and backwards story telling he is probably sufficient in his story telling skills and should focus on getting the grammar lessons from Older Beginners Homer down.

Thank you Lene! Maybe I can convince him to work on this over summer break in order to be ready to start Diogenes in the fall. Sue
