Hello. I have recently stumbled upon this curriculum. I'm curious to know how much your children enjoy this language arts curriculum. I have one child who is a very reluctant reader/writer, and while I realize that schoolwork isn't necessarily "fun", I would hope that a level of enjoyment could be cultivated in this area. So....for those who have used this for at least a little while, do you have to chain your children to their chairs to do it, or do they finish their work with a smile? Thanks for your input. Jamie R.

I can speak to this from my own experience. Mostly, my children enjoy the work. But of course, there are some parts they like less than others. I think the key is often my own attitude and attention to what my kids are doing. I need to involve myself in what they are doing to keep their attention focused and their enthusiasm up. Classical Writing is not, for the most part, a curriculum you hand to your kids and expect them to do completely on their own. When I give them the necessary time and attention, they usually do finish with a smile. On the other hand, my children have a sin nature, and sometimes nothing will please them. I share that sin nature, and sometimes, nothing will please me. In those times, we simply persevere until we get into a better frame of mind. I have answered as honestly as I can. I hope it is helpful to you. Kathy
