I have a question about the spelling in the primers. Are the words listed (for example, the days of the week in Week One, Day One) to be just copied, or should my child be trying to write them from memory? And should she copy them dividen in syllables, or written normally? Thank you!

For several weeks, they are listed to be copied, and then in later weeks, we ask them to write the days of the week from memory (in order and spelled correctly). You really can do this in any way that suits your student - you could give a quiz later in the week if you feel your student is ready for that.
In our home school, we do divide a word into syllables and mark it (SWR style) for the first couple of times we practice it, or if a child is having trouble with remembering how to spell it. We are not more specific in the Primers about how to teach spelling so you are free to work with these words in the way that your phonics program teaches.
Keep in mind that the Primers do not replace a systematic phonics program or a regular spelling program.
Let me know if you have further questions.
