My oldest son is doing CW Diogenes Maxim this year as an 8th grader. I would like for him to do CW Herodutus next year with TLI in 9th grade. Would you recommend skipping CW Diogenes Chreia? Or should I move Herodutus and TLI to 10th grade?
If I move him up, are you all still on schedule to release the beta version of Plutarch this fall with Diogenes coming out in the fall of 2010? I'm just asking for my scheduling purposes because I truly appreciate all of the work that you do on this program.
Take care, ~Beth

That should read Demosthenes (not Diogenes) for possibly beta release in fall 2010. Sorry!

Hi, Beth! To the best of my knowledge, Plutarch will be available as a Beta in the fall of 2010. Diogenes is out already - were you thinking of Demosthenes? We'd like to have that available as a beta in 2011, but will have to see how the material develops. I'll let Lene or Kathy address skipping Chreia. Carolyn

Plutarch will be available as beta in the fall of 2010. Demosthenes will be tested in the fall of 2010 and should be available in beta in the fall of 2011. I do not recommend skipping Chreia. There is much foundational material in terms of essay writing that is taught in Chreia and only briefly reviewed in Herodotus. I am currently teaching two new students who have not been through Chreia, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone else. Lene

Thanks, Lene & Carolyn. That's exactly what I needed to know as I think about the CW sequence for our high school years. ~Beth
