I feel like I missed something when trying to read in Homer pg 221 for the lesson on Same Diagram, new idea. There are examples in the models on pg 220 and 223 but no explanation on what they student is supposed to do. Could someone explain this Shuffle step to me. Thanks, Wendy

The 6th step of the shuffle is exactly what it sounds like. Using the diagram of the sentence that you made in step 1 of the shuffle, write a sentence about a new topic that has the exact same grammatical construction.
If the sentence were "I saw two egrets", you would have a diagram showing a subject, transitive verb, adjective, and direct object.
Your new sentence could be about Polly. Polly ate seven grapes.
The sentence is diagrammed exactly like the model sentence, but it's about a new idea.
Does that help?
