Hi.
Please, what is the rhyme scheme for "Old Ironsides"? I don't know how to mark lines with no end rhyme. I was going to use an X and therefore came up with this pattern: ABXBACXC ABABXCXC XBXBXCXC I thought 'down' and 'shout' from the first stanza were a close rhyme since they have the same vowel sound. What is your critique? Thanks!

Each sound at the end of a line gets the next available letter (unless it rhymes with a previously 'assigned' letter), so I'd come up with ABCBDEFE for the first stanza - not being so charitable with 'down' and 'shout.' Second stanza - ABAB CDED (tread and pluck? Maybe. 5 letters, same consonant vowel patterns) Third - ABCB DEFE. Carolyn
