hi lene & tracey hope things are going well for both of you with regard to your relocation challenges!! i have been looking over CW which i recently purchased and i am so blessed, i thank you for clear explanations and excellent quality...here is my question..
re homer which of his writings.would be the models ( for example in CW you list 6 fables of Aesop)and what would be a couple of examples of other models if one would not be using homer's writing..
i tried to search through the board to see if this is ansered somewhere else but my fussy newborn "little prince" has not been facilitating the process (hence i write with no caps and loads of errors ;D )
if you have already answered this.. point me in the right direction and i'll look at what has already been explained
thanks again and may the Lord grant you and your spouses grace, peace and wisdom in the months ahead

Dear Clara, Congratulations with the little newborn, I know of no greater blessing than new babies. On the web page home.att.net/~mikejaqua/homer.htmlI give a sketchy outline for how to approach Homer. Now as far as length, my recommendation is to start with a passage which is about twice as long as an Aesop fable, see how the kids do and build up from there to something really long, like Andersen's The Tinderbox or Aladin's lamp. On the webpage mentioned above you will find links to different retellings of Homer to use for the tales. All are taken from the Iliad or the Odyssey. Thanks for the well wishes on the moving front. My family is likely to have a decision (Lord willing) on where we will move by the end of this week. We have the choices, we just have to decide. Then comes house selling, temporary housing, et.c. We hope to be settled by the end of August, if all goes as planned. Lene
