Is there site where I can see sample pages of Harvey's Grammar? I couldn't find anything at Mott Media.
Also, has anyone smoothly trasitioned from Rod & Staff to Harvey's in the lower grades?
I am hesitant to abandon the hand holding of R&S as I have heard that one should have a strong footing in grammar in order to use Harvey's successfully.
Thanks, Robin

Robin,
Amazon has a "look inside" for Harvey's Revised. It's not terribly thrilling (covers the "orthography" section <g>). But there is a table of contents.
Harvey's is definitely more intense than Rod & Staff, but in some ways I think it's more satisfying. One doesn't feel like one is constantly being fed in little tiny bits and pieces. With Harvey's you get the whole picture, the meaty picture, even in the Elementary book.
If possible, I would recommend trying to go through Harvey's Elementary yourself once, even just a careful read-through (with an exercise or two here and there) before teaching the kids. However, if you can't do that, know that you can learn along with them if you teach it aloud. The most substantive grammatical learning I've ever done was to go through Harvey's Elementary with my older two dc (I think they were 4th and 6th grade at the time) over the course of a few months. We ALL learned a ton.
You could also try doing both for a while, dipping into Harvey's once or twice a week, say, until you have a good routine figured out. It would be too much to do that long-term, but a transition of a few weeks would be OK. The styles are definitely different.
