I have no pride left, and so I ask this question... In our Harvey's Grammar notebook which we divided into the 8 parts of speech and miscellaneous, what section would "participle" go under? Verb? Adjective? Noun? Miscellaneous? Thank you! Ellie

Good question A participle is a verbal, that is, it is a form of a verb which can be used as another form of speech. The other verbals and gerunds and infinitives. You are prefectly right. Participles can act as nouns, as adjectives and so forth. Lene, hoping to have restored your *pride*
