What forms of writing and grammar will be covered in Diogenes? Is pursuasive writing covered at all or will it be more like Homer?
By the way, I just received my workbooks for Poetry and they are great. Boy these are going to be a big help..so thanks in making these available.....

So glad you asked.Cw Diogenes is nearing completion and those issues are set. CW Diogenes is beginning essay writing. We cover different types of expository/persuasive writing. Specifically we will teach the student writing a basic thesis statement (very basic and simple) writing background information arguing the reason for WHY something is said or done arguing for what would happen if certain advice is NOT taken giving examples of the above giving analogies of the above giving testimony from famous people who say the same thing writing a brief conclusion AND for grammar.... The students will be appplying grammar principles from Harvey's Elementary PART II or Harvey's Revised (focusing on syntax : sentence construction) in their analysis and imitation work and also to their writing projects in terms of editing. CW Diogenes will have three parts to it 1. theory (grammar and rhetoric theory) and paragraph level writing 2. analysis and imitation of great models (CS Lewis, Bacon, Bible, Church Fathers, etc) 3. Writing projects (full essays) Thank you for your kind words about the Poetry workbooks. Kathy really is and awesome teacher and "explainer" and her books are a God-sent to us. We're so pleased to have her on our team. Let me know if this tells you enough about CW Diogenes... which we're working really hard on right now even as we speak Lene

Thanks so much for all of your efforts.
