I have looked pronomial adjectives up in the dictionary, encyclopedia and google to no avail. What is a pronomial adjective. My students have memorized the list but what exactly are they? What characterizes them? What makes an adjective Pronomial?

I must apologize for the extremely late answer here ... this question didn't show up on the boards, and I found it completely by accident.
That said, a pronomial adjective is also called a pronominal adject. It's covered in Harvey's under Definitive Adjectives, and is a definitive adjective which may represent an understood noun.
In this sentence "This is broken", "This" is a pronominal adjective "This bicycle is broken", "This" is a definitive adjective, but not pronominal.
